American Eagle Moving Company

DO NOT USE! I scheduled a move through Eagle Moving mid-June 2022 for a late July 2022 move from Boston-Philadelphia. Since I scheduled a month in advanced and am a student they gave me a discount and estimated me around $2,400 and 350 cubic feet. I confirmed my inventory with their inventory control manager and was all set. They even told me I might have extra space in the truck if I needed anything else.

The movers showed up and took a look at my apartment and essentially told me that Eagle Moving way underestimated the amount of space I was going to need and demanded I paid them an additional $1400 in cash that day and an additional $1600 on drop off or they wouldn't take my stuff.

Eagle Moving drastically underestimates the moving cost knowing that the day of the move you are going to be in a bind and end up paying it. They convinced me to put the deposit down and were incredibly misleading with the cost. I ended up having to purchase an additional 300 cubic feet. I understand if the estimate is a little off but they underestimated by quote by half which was no mistake by them. They have ghosted me since and refuse to refund me any of the money. Instead of paying $2400 like they said I ended up paying a total of $6,000. I spoke with them as a 26 year old female moving 400 miles away and as a student about how terrible they should feel for distorting people but they had no sympathy, completely knowing how corrupt their business is.

Eagle moving has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I would absolutely never recommend them and they are a morally corrupt company. I will review them on every website so no one falls in the same trap that I did.They have not tried to compensate me for underquoting me by $3,600.

Dont ever think of hiring this company for your move. They are very helpful until they get your 35% deposit. Once you pay the deposit, you are screwed. Nobody will respond. They give you all false information on the phone just to get your deposit. I was initially quoted for $2000 for a small 2 bed room apartment and ended up paying $4800. I still had to throw away my couch, dining table, computer table. I still don't understand why I had to pay 5k.

All positive reviews here are fake. They just lie to your face on each and everything right from your quote to insurance to additional charges.

Liars liars liars. BEWARE

Update: after paying $4800 for a small 2br apartment move of 400 miles, they damaged my bed and drill holes however they want. Such a horrible service.

My boyfriend and I were moving from Woodside NY to Reading PA for a new job, (a fruit trucking company that we were able to buy.) After quite a bit of research, we settled on American Eagle Moving Company. (My boyfriend is a military sergeant, and very passionate about the company, so he was really moved by the name of the moving company: American Eagle.) Our house has quite a bit of expensive things, including a full bedroom set, several electronics, and two TVs. We were a little concerned that they would have trouble going up the stairs (we rent out the first floor) but the two guys that showed up were more than capable of bringing everything downstairs. They were even really comfortable with our pitbull, something that not a lot of people are. Overall, the moving went smoothly and was safely loaded into the truck in just a matter of hours. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2500

This is by far the worst moving experience I've ever had (and I've moved over 20 times in my adult life. First, the quote was handled over the phone and I was told that my move would cost $2,200 (454 sq. ft.), give or take a few square feet of space needs. When I called, my number 1 priority, as concerned the move particulars, was that I have full packing and unpacking service. I was also told by Scott that I would have him personally supervising my entire move.

When the packers (Ari, Elvis, James and Luisni) came, they began packing and a couple of hours later they told me that my packed items took up nearly TWICE (or 875 sq. ft.) the space that had been quoted to me, so it would cost more. Further, upon completion, I was informed that neither the packing or unpacking was included in the cost, so I would need to pay $875 for the packing and an additional $875 for the unpacking. This brought my bill to $6,264 - not kidding - and they already had my things packed up in the truck (later, I learned what happened if one balked at the price).. Keep in mind that this was a move from South Florida to Atlanta and it was a 1-bedroom apartment.. They also told me that they would be the same people who delivered my items. I tipped them $20 per person and went out earlier in the move to get them all Gatorade, but still..

Finally, when the truck came to unpack me, there was 1-guy, Chris, who had neither an idea of how to, nor any expectation that, he would be unpacking me AND told me that I would have to pay an additional $75 "elevator" fee and a $75 "long-haul" fee. This was TOO much (it already had been in retrospect), so I made him wait to unload the truck, until I had a chance to call my "personal" representative, Scott (RIGHT!). Anyway, after dealing with frontline sales and being passed to Customer Service, I spoke with Kevin and then one other (don't recall his name) person and was told that there would be NO adjustments to my bill and further, if I held the driver any longer, I would pay a minimum of $675 more, followed by angry protestations that I "wasn't listening." Anyway, I was in between a rock and a hard place, so I let Chris (and his helper that joined him 2 hours in, Herbert) unload me - they put the bed back together and the legs on my couch, but NO unpacking.. AND, both of my bookcase sides had breakage..

Weeks later, I was going to show off my coin collections - two: 1 of State Quarters ($2,000 value) and 1 of Kennedy 1/2 Dollars ($2,200 value), I found out that they were nowhere to be found - someone in one of these legs had clearly stolen them, as nothing else was missing (I should be happy, right?). People asked if I reported them stolen to the company and I assured them that they would not care in the least.. Make your own determination if you must, but I cannot begin to tell you how much I regret hiring them to do my move.

My furniture was just delivered his morn by American eagle movers. I’m really impressed with how professional and thorough these movers were. Needless to say I was contacted By many movers but weeded our the scammers and did my research and this was the company I decided on. My rep was very knowledge and knew his material Inskde and out. I was very nervous going into the process but the company made my experience very easy and stress free and I will recommend them to friends and family without a doubt.

We moved from Virginia to California with American Eagle. AE was recommended by one of my husband's coworkers, so we thought we'd give them a try and we're glad we did. It cost a little more than we thought we'd spend on a move, but we can't really complain because AE was professional, courteous, cleaned up after themselves, treated us and our belongings with respect, and even helped us wrap and pack the last couple items. They charged what they quoted us and arrived on time. A cross-country move is stressful no matter who you are, but we will definitely use AE if we have to do it again.

1. Price: nobody came to us to count the price of moving. I decided to myself that must be photos can help to count right price. By the photos manager [NAME EDIT] said the price in $1900. But when the delivery guys came and packed everything were occurs $3800. Two times more! TWO TIMES!
2. Service: After that I wrote and called 37 times and only 1 time I received an answer from other person. And she said that everything that she can do sent me a form of the contest!
3. Time: this manager promised to me that 1 - 2 weeks will be enough for the moving us from PA to CO. But they spent 4 weeks!
4. Condition: almost half of our stuff had damaged. All plates broken, three commodes got wrecked, a wood tv shelf all scratched, and they lost a box with our bed linens.

I’m very sorry that I had chosen that company!

You call and you get bubbly friendly “have a blessed day” Megan. But it’s a ruse from there. She promises great customer service thru the end. They came and got our hhg as promised but now we can’t get our hhg back! They won’t return phone calls, emails, and they stopped billing us for storage. Megan won’t answer or return our calls. We can’t get an answer from anyone. When we did get thru once the man was rude and told us Nicole in dispatch will call us in “a couple days”. That was a week ago. No call. We now have to get a lawyer to try and get our stuff back.

We told them from the beginning we didn’t know where we were moving and it could be Alaska, which they do not serve. Megan promised it would not be a problem transferring our hhg. But now they are telling us they will not let another moving company come pick up our items to take to Alaska. They wouldn’t even give us our weight or cubic feet so our new moving company can give us a quote. It’s like they are five years old pitching a fit. I have never experienced worse customer service. Do not get fooled as I did. Call someone else.

My family and I were so grateful to American eagle for moving us. It was such a fast and comfortable experience that made things far simpler than I expected.
We had a lot of delicate and precious things that were handled with care yet still the job was done quickly and we couldn’t be happier.
We are happy in our new location and will be recommending American eagle to any of our friends and family who may be moving soon. It really was a pleasure and well worth the cost which was absolutely reasonable. Great company great experience!

I really wasn’t prepared for my state-to-state move. I was so overwhelmed by the thought of such a huge move, until I called American Eagle! Their staff were so sweet and accommodating from the first phone call. They helped me determine everything (from supplies needed, amount of movers, etc).
On the day of the move, I was able to sit back and relax. Their movers were courteous and professional. I felt comfortable knowing that literally ALL my belongings were in the truck, headed to California. When it arrived, everything was there and intact. I hope I don’t need to move again but if I do, I will definitely call American Eagle!

I hired American Eagle Moving company for a small interstate move. I was quoted $2,367 based on my potential inventory and was told that it included all the packing of the large furniture and if needed smaller items would cost extra to box. I was told to expect a call 3 days in advance of the move for scheduling. No call came. I called multiple times and eventually got a representative on the day of my move 4/16/18. There was no confirmation of inventory only a window from 4-6pm. At 4:30, they called to cancel my pick up and said to expect them first thing in the morning. On 4/17 no communication came until 10:30 saying they couldn't find my unit. The two "movers" entered saying one spoke little English and to communicate only with the lead guy. He walked through my unit confirmed all of my items with the initial quote, admonished me for having recently used my washer and dryer, and then told me it was going to cost significantly more than my quote, despite no additional items. He had his supervisor call to say that my new quote was $4,756 and that the initial quote didn't account for all of the packing and stairs (Vikotoria the customer service rep said that these were included). I was then told I had 30 minutes to decide or I would be charged for keeping the men waiting. I tried to call the customer service rep, who put me on hold twice before hanging up. I then called the main line and the customer account manager asked me "if I was on medication, if I was a good kisser, and told me that there was no way I would get any money back and that my account was closed. I asked to speak to the owner, who repeated the question of "are you a good kisser" and wouldn't come on the line until I answered it. They transferred me from representative to representative further laughing at the situation and insisting that I had canceled the move and couldn't get my money back. They sent the drivers away and then continued to harass me with sexual remarks until I added my mother to the call. From that point on, they just hung up and refused to speak to us at all.

After 20 years of living in the Detroit area, my family accumulated a ton of stuff as seen in my pictures (not proud of the amount we had). It came time for us to move back home to Central Illinois and I had no idea where to even begin looking for a mover. A friend suggested American Eagle, and after receiving their quote, we decided to go with them. The moving guys were quick to get us packed up and were very diligent in taking care of our belongings, many of which are antiques. They were also very courteous and professional throughout the entire process. Our things made it to our new home within the week and were in great condition. I was worried about trusting everything to strangers but after my experience with American Eagle, I would not hesitate to use them again. They definitely know what they are doing, and I recommend them to anyone with moving needs.

This really was a strike to the head. I thought this was going to be so expensive but it was so affordable and a great experience overall.

I was done packing and I still needed to get more stuff in boxes. The 4 guys showed up and made sure it was done for me. No damage either.

When the delivery day came so quickly, which is a huge God sense. The price was affordable and the furniture was in the same conditions. Talk about a happy girl. This one right here. Many blessings to all at American Eagle.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7419

First of all, my items were picked up on June 23, 2018 and not delivered until July 30, 2018. The move was only 270 miles from destination to destination in the same state. We were told our items would be delivered 4 days after being packed up. After numerous phone calls, countless hours on hold, told all different stories from several rude customer service people and almost tripled the quoted price, after our items were loaded on the truck, I can’t even begin to tell you how frustrated and sorry I am for ever hiring them. Please do not consider this company for any move.

They were supposed to pick up my items on July 30th and it's August 1st and all I have been told is maybe they will be here August 3rd or 6th. It's not like I need to be at my new location. I have gotten multiple calls from people at the company providing contradicting statements demonstrating a lack of internal communication. The dispatcher is rude and quick to blame you when clearly he is incompetent. I can't wait to see how they try to jack up the price if and when they ever get here. At this point I do not expect my items to ever make it to the destination.

These guys were absolutely a dream come true. Seriously! I had a mover cancel on me last minute so in a panic I went online looking for movers. I received a call from James, and he immediately addressed all my issues and made sure he had all of my information. After probably the most stressful week of my life with the closing of the home and my new home being delayed, American Eagle was my only saving grace. I would recommend them to anyone in my network, and will not hesitate to use this service again in the future.

I found that, by clicking the link to review their USDOT information (link found at top right of this page), they are officially marked as "Out of Service". That same site says they only have TWO movers, so the odds of me getting my things even within the next few months are slim.

"Dave S." if you're reading this, please don't tell me to call your 1-844 number to get ahold of you, as no one answers or responds to voicemails. YOU may call ME at (916)517-2407 to discuss the poor service and the validity of my claims. Until then, this review stays put along with the one on Google.

I'm on business day 18 of not having my items delivered to me - I was promised I would have them in 21 business days.

Once they get your deposit all happy/successful customer service engagement ends, and they completely fall off the face of the planet. I've been calling customer service, sales, and dispatch once a day for two weeks. My dad has done the same and left one voicemail a day for over a week now. No response, I have no clue where my stuff is, and there's no end in sight.

Wish I could have put a rating of zero. I had a binding moving contract to move my furniture. They took my deposit of $910 and NEVER picked my furniture. At first I got an excuse about the truck being full and another truck requested, and then they just blocked my calls altogether. Now they refuse to refund my deposit because that is what it says in the contract. I was forced to put my furniture in storage and then hire another mover at the last minute. I think reviews of 5 star must be self created.

When I started to search for moving companies I was bombarded by four or five different companies that decided to call me text me email me and basically knock on my front door. I was just about fed up with talking to and trying to find a company that was absolutely legitimate in their business affairs.

I came across Nick who was a phenomenal and knowledgeable and polite gentleman who guided me and guy did my wife through the entire process of what to expect and what to look out for when speaking with other companies.

When the day came around for the movers to show up they arrived on time in uniform they were clean and the truck was clean that scored huge points with my wife and I. I was absolutely amazed by how quick and proficient the gentlemen were that packed up and disassembled and wrapped up all of our furniture.

All of my wife’s stuff that she is very sentimental about was handled like it had a very big red sign that said fragile on it. When everything was loaded into the truck a huge sigh of relief came over both of us.

When the day for delivery came everything looked like it was loaded and they unloaded everything into my house unwrap everything put everything back into the places that we asked. We were both very very happy with the services that American eagle gave us.

I will tell all of my friends all of my family and all of my new coworkers that when it is time to relocate for work or just relocate to retire to get on the phone and call Nick or call anyone at American Eagle.

Thank you Nick I really appreciate how courteous you were and how much of a gentleman your workers were Towards myself and my wife.

Our belongings were picked up (after paying the deposit and $685 CASH before movers would load) 7/30/18 in Summerfield FL to be delivered in 7-10 days to Ashland NE. Still haven’t received our possessions and they never kept me apprised of location, status, or ETA of the shipment as promised by the rep. I dealt with who gave me the quote, took my order and deposit, his direct contact number and email address. I have called and texted every phone number I can find for American Eagle Moving and I have sent emails and an overnight delivery certified letter to the company—still no suitable response or information. I’m sickened to think I may have been scammed or am a victim of fraud or theft, but mostly I’m heartbroken that I may have forever lost my recently deceased husband’s photos, our momentoes, and his Navy and Vietnam veteran service ribbons. Had I thought this would happen and the company was going to be so insensitive and unprofessional I would never had employed American Eagle Moving.

I thought this was going to be a disaster. My brother reserved a moving company and 4 days, yes 4 DAYS before they were suppose to be at my house they cancelled.

I was scared and worried that someone was going to charge me whatever they wanted.

I spoke with Tony at American Eagle and he was so kind and beyond helpful. The knowledge that he armed me with, made everything seem like it was going to be ok.

They had the availability to get me moved and I took it. The loading and unloading went perfect. The price was a little less than I was going to charged, which I thought how, but I didn’t worry about it. Thanks a billion Tony, you deserve a plaque or a medal.

This is seriously a very reliable company. They not only sure that my first two moves went smoothly, but this time, my third move went even better than I could’ve imagained.

I totally forgot that as I grow, I’m sure companies to as well. They showed that first hand to me. I had no issues on any of the three moves that I had with American Eagle. This one was the most important one because of the time crunch that I was on. Just like the past though, they exceeded my expectations. Jared has helped me on all three moves and the fact that he got me a discount this time was amazing.
